Tia Woods is a musician, educator, and community advocate from Rush, Kentucky. She was born into a musical family and the first few years of her life were spent on a tour bus, as her family was part of the Christian gospel group, The Singing Gospelairs. This is where she fell in love with music and her aunt says she was singing before she could speak. She would carry this love of music into other endeavors and with her the rest of her life. A few years ago, in a “pre-midlife crisis,” Tia decided to give a musical career some serious consideration and effort. She got a guitar and began writing her own songs. They poured out of her and finally, after years of attempting to learn to play, she took to the guitar. Cowan Creek Mountain Music School in Whitesburg, Kentucky, helped guide and fine tune her musical abilities and she is now learning to play the fiddle. A Pink Ladies cover featuring the fiddle is in the works! Tia is passionate about the environment, animals, social justice, music, and dismantling the patriarchy.
